The mesh itself is plastic coated so as to resist weather and rusting. These masks are available in different colored version including black, khaki and fully licensed Crye Precision Multicam.This Version 2 model goes a step further with two sets of straps at it does not just cover the mouth and nose but extends up past the law to cover the ears as well. The flexible nature of the mesh weave means that the mask is tightened such that it bends to conform and wrap around the curve of your head. The space and flex is probably sufficient to accommodate over the top of additional ear coverings like communications gear although that will depend on your comms equipment of course.
